I think you should be 11+ to read this book because there is lots of mild cussing and some blood.
SPOILERS! This comic is about normal Miles Morales, a kid who hopes to get into charter school. He does, and goes to see his shifty uncle. There, he gets bit by a large spider and developes powers such as invisilibty, wall climbing, super speed, and venom strike. Later, he uses his powers to save a lady from a fire. Then Peter Parker dies. Miles encounters many more threats souch as electro, and the Kangaroo.
My favorite part is when Miles takes down the Kangaroo, because he is making fun of the Kangaroo the whole time. I think the worst part is when Peter dies, because it doesn’t even make any sense why he blows up!!! I think the lesson to this story is: be true to yourself and do the right thing. I like this book a lot because I can feel what it must be like to be hiding something that you can’t tell anybody. I also really like how Miles knows he has to do something, and he just does it. If you like any spider man comic, then you will love this.
