SCHOLASTIC 1987
Fiction, survival, adventure
Reading level grades 5-7, content 8 ½ -14 because there is one disturbing scene for little kids.
Brian Robeson is a normal kid who has a pretty normal life until his parents get divorced. So, he winds up on a plane to visit with his dad. But then the pilot has a heart attack, and dies. So Brian crashes the plane in a forest with no supplies but his hatchet. Will Brian make it through the days of waiting? Or will he succumb to the nature’s might?????
SPOILERS!!!!! My favorite part is when Brian finds the food and is eating it when the rescue guys come and he just says “would you like something to eat?”
I thought it was sad that the nice pilot died.
I think the author was trying to tell us never to give up, just like Brian.
I thought this book was pretty good because it had so much details.
