BOOK REVIEW: The Accidental Hero

(series) The Jack Blank Adventures

Matt Myklusch

Fiction, action, superheroes, robot zombies, hidden islands.
Reading level grades 5-6, content ages 9-13, no blood, but lots of violence, and gruesome violence. Such as a guy getting blown in half.

IF you like randomness and adventure, read this book. It has everything from ninjas to superheroes, even robot zombies! The Accidental Hero by Matt Myklusch is about young Jack Blank who goes from a horrible orphanage to being chased by a robot zombie. Jack somehow blows up the zombie, but gets in big trouble with the supervisor. A mysterious man comes and takes jack to his boat where Jack meets a giant blue man. The strange guys tell him that they are taking him to a hidden island where people with powers live. But when they get there, Jack is told he is infected with a horrible disease and is thrown in jail. What the heck is going on? My favorite part is when Jack tries to fight Revile but Revile just keeps regenerating. I like it how Jack and his friends never give up even though they know they will probably lose. I love this book so much because it is so creative and it has some great characters and a fantastic plot. The story really gets you wound up in it. In this book, it is so cool because there is everything from ninjas, superheroes, Ronin assassins, and even robot zombies!

I rate it 9 ½ out of 10
