The first book in the Leven Thumps series is a perfect balance of action and fiction. A young boy named Leven Thumps is horribly treated in his home, and he has the worst life anyone could imagine, up until he meets Clover, a cat-like creature that has observed him his entire life. From him, Leven learns that if you stand on a miss-matched sidewalk, a shooting star is passing above, and the temperature is divisible by 7, then you will be swept away to a whimsical world called Foo. Foo and its inhabitants are made to mix and bend dreams, so that human can have pleasant dreams, because without dreams, there is no hope, and with no hope, human may cease to exist. Leven and a mysterious and also mistreated girl named Winter must save Foo & Reality from Sabene and his shadows. Will they succeed, or will the two lands perish?

I liked it when their parents get payback for how they treated Leven and Winter.

I really like Clover, mostly because of his smart-aleck and mischievous personality.

I like this book because it is so intense. I also like the way it pulls you in and you don’t want to stop!!!

I rate it 10 out of 10
