BOOK REVIEW: Ungifted

Gordon Korman

2012 by HarperCollins

fiction, robots, comedy

Reading level grades 4-7, content ages 8-13

Ungifted, by Gordon Korman is a funny book all about how hitting a statue in the butt can get you into a gifted school. Don’t actually do that though. Because of an accidental switching of names trouble maker Donovan Curtisis is put into a school for gifted kids, and ends up making a few friends and “touching up” the school’s robot. Little does the principal know that after Donovan pulled a prank, he put his name on a note and that note he thought was for sending to the gifted school. Donovan can hide there for now, but will the principal find him???

My favorite part is when Donovan hits a statue in the butt and the globe falls out of its hands and crushes the school.

Nothing really bothered me except that some kids were mean to the smart ones.

I think the story was all about: tell the truth, don’t get into too much trouble, lie, and get in big trouble.

I liked this book a lot because of all the humor and laughs.

I rate it 9 out of 10
