BOOK REVIEW: Stoneheart

Series: The Stoneheart Trilogy

Author: Charlie Fletcher

Genre: Fiction, Fantasy, Action and Adventure.

Suggested age range: 11-13, Reading level: Slightly challenging.

If you enjoyed this book, try; Percy Jackson series, The Heroes Of Olympus, and The Mysterious Benedict Society.

This book is about a boy named Gorge who thinks life can’t get any worse, until he punches a stone gargoyle and his life takes a turn for the worse. Suddenly all of the gargoyles, statues, busts and basically anything like a statue comes to life. Gorge will need the help of Eddie, a glint who can see hidden messages in certain items that are otherwise junk, and The Gunner, a kind and helpful statue who helps them along on their quest to get Gorge back where he belongs.
Favorite Part: I like it when gorge fights the dragon because of all of the description and all of the powerful words used to make it feel like you are a speculator of a great battle.
Highlight: My highlight is The Gunner because he never had to help these kids, and yet he readily and repeatedly risks his life for the safety of Gorge and Eddie.

Why did I like it or not: I Liked this book because it is the type of book that sucks you in and feels like you are in another dimension of the world, when you are really curled up in a cozy corner looking like a zombie.

I rate it 8 out of 10
